Anonymous asked: what do triangle tattoos mean?

In western culture, triangles are often connected to a religious meaning and the christian trinity. The eye enclosed by a triangle (and usually surrounded by rays of light) is known as the “Eye Of Providence”, or the all seeing eye of God. It’s usually also associated with masonry. But as for almost every symbols, his meaning has changed through years, being adopted from different cultures. For someone, an inverted triangle is also the alchemical/magical symbol for water, while the classic up facing triangle stands for fire, or it can means “masculine” while the circle or the upside down triangle means “feminine”, for others is a summoning symbol, for the Greeks, the triangle is seen as the delta glyph and is symbolic of a doorway. For the LBGT community a pink triangle, employed by the Nazis in World War II as a badge of shame, represent now their pride. As a tattoo, it can represent all of this, or whatever you want to. All you need is a deeper knowledge of what you are going to mark on your skin forever, and the awareness of all the different meanings it can have for peoples when they see your body. Otherwise, it’s just an over abused hipster trend ;). If you like it, do your researches, think it twice, and then find a really good artist that can make it unique, that can draw something that can fits you and what you are, and go with it.
